Frequently Asked Questions
*Click Question for answer.
What is an FCB PITAKArd? What can it be used for?
It is a debit card issued to an FCB ATM/POS depositor. The PITAKArd can be used to access funds at FCB Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, or to pay for purchases at FCB accredited merchants.
What name will be printed on the card?
The name reflected on the card must be same with the name on the account opened.
Does the FCB PITAKArd expire?
There is no expiration date on an FCB PITAKArd. Zero balance is allowed on all ATM/POS accounts, for a limited period of time. When an account has zero balance for ninety (90) consecutive days, the account will be automatically closed.
Who can apply for the FCB PITAKArd?
Anyone can apply for a PITAKArd, regardless of his or her nationality, country of residence, credit history or status. However, PITAKArd accounts must be for single/individual accounts as we currently do not allow joint or corporate accounts.
How secure is my money with the PITAKArd?
FCB PITAKArd is more secure than a credit card. Nobody can access your cash without your Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN code is expected to be known exclusively by the cardholder.
How is it better than cash?
A debit card is more secure than cash. If cash is lost or stolen, it is likely gone forever. If your debit card is lost or stolen, it can be replaced. No one can access your money unless they also have your PIN.
Is a Debit Card (PITAKArd) better than using checks?
Cash stored on the PITAKArd is available immediately. If you send a check as a gift or to transfer money to relatives "back home", the recipient's bank usually puts the money on hold for at least a few days for clearing.
Where can I open a PITAKArd account?
You can open your PITAKArd account at any FCB branch.
What are the requirements in opening a PITAKArd account?
The required documents are similar to those required in opening regular deposit accounts, plus one recent 1 x 1 picture. This is necessary for placing the account holder's photo on the PITAKArd.
Where can I use my card?
You can use your PITAKArd anywhere you can see the FCB logo, which includes all FCB ATMs and accredited merchant debit terminals.
Can I use my PITAKArd like a credit card to buy things before I add money to the card?
No. The PITAKArd is a debit card. This means that you must first deposit money to your ATM/POS account. You cannot use the card to spend or withdraw more than the amount of money that is stored on it.
Do I need a good credit record to get a card?
No. Since you cannot spend or withdraw more money than you have added to the card, the bank does not assume any risk and, therefore, is not concerned with your credit rating.
How do I add money to my card?
You can make a deposit into your PITAKArd account at any FCB branch. Depositing at merchants is not allowed.
Can I transfer money from my PITAKArd to my regular FCB bank account?
Yes. This can be done at FCB branches.
Is my money protected if my card is lost or stolen?
Yes. Nobody can access your money without your PIN. If your card is lost or stolen, it can be replaced once we verify that you are the authorized cardholder.
Can I still access my money if I forget my Personal Identification Number (PIN)?
Yes, but not right away. To ensure that your money is safe, you need both your card and your PIN to access your money. However, if you forget your PIN, you will be asked to visit the nearest FCB branch. We will ask some pre-arranged security questions that only you should be able to answer. Once you prove that you are the authorized cardholder, you will be able to assign a new PIN to your card.
Will I still be able to return and get a refund for things I buy with my debit card?
Using the FCB card to pay for your purchase does not alter the store's refund policy. If the store normally allows refunds on returned merchandise, then they will provide a refund on something purchased with your card. If you return merchandise, it is up to the merchant whether to issue a cash refund or to transfer the money back onto your card.
Is it less expensive to transfer money from card to card than using a traditional wire transfer service?
Yes. We offer fund transfers between enrolled PITAKArd accounts for free. You can even execute fund transfers at ATMs; therefore this transaction can be completed at your own convenience, 24/7.
Are there any transaction fees?
Fund transfers between enrolled PITAKArd accounts are free. Fund transfers to other bank accounts incur a minimal fee.
Can I find out how much money is in my PITAKArd account? Or do I have to keep track of that myself?
You can see your card's balance, along with any transactions applied at ATMs. A balance inquiry menu is available on both ATMs and POS terminals.
How much does it cost to get a PITAKArd card?
Normally, there is a minimal fee associated with the card. However, depending on the purpose of the card, the initial issuance of the PITAKArd is free of charge. One hundred pesos will be automatically debited from your account if you request for a replacement card.
Are there any limits as to how much money I can store on my card?
There are no limits as to how much money you can keep in your debit card account. However, there are limits on how much you can withdraw without incurring any fees.
Are there any limits to how much I can purchase with my card or withdraw from my card account in a single transaction?
Yes. There are limits as to how much you may purchase/withdraw at ATMs or POS terminals for a one-time transaction. Such limit is set as an additional safety measure on your bank account.
I used a debit card to transfer money to relatives back home. When I want to send more money to them, can I add money to the same card or do I have to get a new card?
Yes. You can simply add more money to the same card. They will then have instant access to the cash.
Is there someone who I can talk to if I am having a problem?
Yes. You can visit any of our FCB branches or may directly call our PITAKArd Help Desk with the following hotlines: (038) 412-5456 or (038)412-5448 ? dial zero (0) for operator assistance, then press 1
